Home Coming 2020

It has been so fun to watch my daughter get ready for her 1st dance. My feelings were a little hurt that she wanted to get ready with friends at their house. The joys of children having friends.  I at least got one "prep" picture before she ran off to finish that hair and make up.

Trey Larson is a "little" taller. Trey is 6'8 and Maddie 5'3.

Pretty girl. A few weeks ago her and I went prom dress shopping. Although the decision making was driving me CRAZY it was a great feeling knowing whatever she chose it was going to be modest. Maddie's day date was hiking. They were then taken to Freddy's in St. George for lunch. They went to Fiesta Fun to bowl and play miniature golf. Unfortunately many others had the same thought. After spending 45 minutes in both lines they decided to call it day and get the girls home so they could get ready for the dance.

Hunter's date was with Miss Emily Dobson. Although Hunter doesn't prep quite as much as Maddie it's still fun to watch them get ready and to look their best. For Hunter's day date the boys picked the girls up at 8am to go hiking in Zion. I had 6 young men at my house at 7am making sandwiches and packing lunches for their day  I'm thankful for the good kids we have been blessed with. And the good friends they have made over these past few years.

Junior Powder Puff

The Friday night before our Football homecoming game the Junior and Senior girls dress up in the boys old uniforms and play a little game. They call it Powder Puff.

Maddie decided she wanted to give it a try.

They didn't have a limit of how many girls could participate which was kind of nice everyone got participate that wanted to. On the flip side there about 45 girls who played. They kept a few of the soccer players in constantly but rotated the other 40 girls so they each got to be in for a few seconds at least.

Man she has long hair.
Here's her one and only 15 seconds of playing time.

Although she didn't have a lot of time on the field it was fun to watch her with her friends during the game.

Juniors lost by one touch down. It was a fun night sitting in the bleachers watching these fun girls.

Home Coming 2020

A nice young man called me a few days ago. He told me he was wanting to ask Maddie to Home Coming. Due to Covid and having a summer birthday this will be her 1st date.

Trey Larson brought this bag of flour over for her.

Maddie ended up bringing home her friend, Alyssa. So together they began sifting through the 25lb. bag of flour.

They didn't find anything sifting the flour from the bag to the bowl. Did he forget to put the note in? Did he get home and discover the note on the counter? But now doesn't know what to do? Is this part of his plan to not put anything in it? But then how am I going to know who is asking me?. All question's these 2 girls were asking each other.

I pulled out our 5 gallon bucket and the girls once again sift through the flour while putting in their bucket. Dang it! Where is his name?

Then this Mom came to the rescue and gave Maddie the "other" part.

Such a super fun idea.
She loved it, her friend loved it, I loved it.

A few days later Maddie finally decided on a way to answer him back.

She filled a box with pink helium balloons and wrapped it in pink paper.

 So cute!

Maddie wasn't the only one going to Home Coming.

Hunter asked Emily Dobson who plays tennis. He bought a brand new bag of tennis balls and put one letter of his name on each ball. His poster says, "Emily, Id be scoring an ACE if you were my doubles partner to HOCO". A few days later she answered him with this.

Now comes the fun part! Dress and matching tie shopping.

She's 14!

This sweet girl is 14. She has been so excited for her special day. I felt bad that it ended up being our most hectic and busy day. Dad was suppose to come home for breakfast for her favorite, waffles.
But he ended up leaving earlier than expected to do an install. Hunter had to go to school a little early and Maddie was late getting home from her college class. So breakfast was just her and I with Brayden and Kylie.

After school work was done she was able to swim to her hearts content. I soon learned that Dad was going to have a late night. To help pass the day I let her open a new gift every few hours. Before Maddie left for Highschool, she opened her gift. When Hunter came home for lunch, she opened his gift.

She had swim team from 5-6. She ate her birthday taco's real quick and then ran off to mutual at 6:30. When she finally came home at 9 the majority of us were home. We had another favorite, Fried Ice Cream for dessert and finished opening her gifts.

 Happy Birthday Beautiful!
