Fun with Cousins

Cox girls come for a few days. Harmony and her girls had some doctors appts on Monday. We decided to make the switch them. Maddie went home with them to hang out with Ruth while Rachel and Izzie Bee stayed here at our house.

It's HOT! It's been over 110 degrees all week. These Alton girls are struggling a bit like the rest of us. No one likes being outside when it's this hot. So we hit the local water reservoirs we have close by.

One day we took our kayaks to Grandpa's Pond.

Izzie Bee liked climbing onto the back of Rachel Kayak and then jumping/falling off the back.
Silly girls.

We have NEVER seen people swim in Grandpa's Pond. They are usually kayaking around. These girls decided to change that! Grandpa's Pond has a little dock that goes out over the pond. People usually fish off it. These 2 decided to jump off the railing. I missed taking pictures.

We also spent some time playing in the Virgin River. Brayden's friend showed him this "cool" spot to cliff jump.

The older girls slowly worked their way up higher and higher.
They are more brave than me!

When the kids were tired of jumping they tried there hand at "floating" the river. We brought our cheap, $.99 Dollar Store pool floats with us. They walked up the river a bit and then came floating down.

The next morning we got word that there is a bad algae in the Virgin River that has killed one dog and made several others sick. As if Covid wasn't enough closing everything down, not this stupid algae is closing our rivers.

Since the river is out we headed to Quail Lake one late afternoon. We brought our tubes again to play in.

While playing Brayden found a fish connected to a fishing line.
Gross!

Girls found a rock that was just under the water. They had fun "diving" off it.

Most of our stores are now requiring masks to enter. Lame! Movie theaters are still closed. Not a lot to do outside of home besides the river and lakes near by. So we spent some time at home playing with the bunnies, swimming in our pool and baking/decorating cupcakes.

These girls are so fun. They really look forward to being able to spend a week with each other every summer.
